A Dutch eyewear brand founded in Amsterdam in 2013 by Mark de Lange and Camiel de Lange van Bergen, started after de Lange came back from a trip to New York frustrated by how expensive and complicated buying prescription glasses back home turned out to be. The brand sells direct-to-consumer to cut out the usual optician markup, and became a certified B Corp in 2021, a process the company has been unusually candid about, publicly listing its own early missteps (like accidentally mixing bamboo fiber into plastic cases) rather than glossing over them.
