Alden Shoe Company
Visit websiteAn American shoemaker founded in 1884 by Charles H. Alden in Middleborough, Massachusetts, and one of the last survivors of what was once a New England shoemaking industry hundreds of factories strong. Shoes are Goodyear-welted and made by hand to the same standards the company started with, most famously in shell cordovan, sourced since 1930 from Horween, the last cordovan tannery left in America (Alden is Horween's largest cordovan customer). Still made in Massachusetts, at a scale small enough that waitlists for certain cordovan models aren't unusual.
