An Irish woollen mill with roots to 1750, when Timothy Mahony opened his first mill on the River Glashaboy in Glanmire; his grandson Martin Mahony built a larger mill in Blarney, County Cork in 1823, which grew into what's now Blarney Woollen Mills. The mill employed 120 local people by 1835 and 200 by 1860, buying wool directly from local farmers to dye, spin and weave on-site, the same River Martin-side site the business still operates from today.
