Bleu de Chauffe
Visit websiteA French leather workshop founded in 2009 by Thierry Batteux and Alexandre Rousseau in Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon, in the Aveyron region historically known for glove-making. Every bag is handcrafted on-site from vegetable-tanned leather exclusively (hides that cost up to four times more than what most luxury brands use), chosen specifically because they patina rather than just wear out. The name, taken from the blue workwear jackets of early-20th-century French factory workers, points to the utilitarian postman-and-fisherman bags that still inspire the designs; the workshop itself is a government-recognized Living Heritage Company.
