Bosie
Visit websiteA Scottish knitwear brand from the North-East, run by a designer whose family has been in the local knitting trade since 1929, tracing back to a small cottage-industry business started by their grandfather. After a textiles degree at Grays School of Art and research trips to Shetland, Norway and Fair Isle with their father in the 1980s, the founder built Bosie around the same coastal Fair Isle and Fisherman knitting traditions they grew up around. Everything is spun and knitted locally (the Shetland wool comes from a mill just 11 miles away that's been spinning yarn for 200 years), and the name itself is Doric Scots for "hug."
