A London leather goods and travel brand founded in 2013 by Swedish brothers Niklas and Mattis Oppermann, who started the company (originally trading as Oppermann London) after failing to find a laptop case with genuine craftsmanship, contemporary design and a reasonable price all at once. They bootstrapped it with around £4,000, beginning with handcrafted wallets and briefcases before expanding into luggage in 2019. The name change to Carl Friedrik nods to the brothers' German-Swedish heritage, and the design language leans on Scandinavian and Bauhaus-influenced minimalism, clean lines, almost no visible branding.
