Cathcart London was founded by Simon, whose interest in tailoring traces to seeing Bryan Ferry's style in the 1970s alongside an admiration for Golden Age Hollywood and mid-century music culture; his sons James and George later joined the family business. The brand specializes in period-accurate tailoring from the 1920s through the 1960s, with design details like rear belts, pleats, full chests, and nipped waists, and says it was the first to offer authentically styled early 20th century polo shirts. Its made-to-measure suits, jackets, and shirts have been used by Hollywood costume designers and West End productions, and the brand has been featured in The Rake, GQ, and the New York Times.
