A tailoring house founded in Rome in 1880 by Giuseppe Cifonelli, moved to Paris by his son Arturo, who opened the first Paris shop in 1926 after his father sent him to London's Minister's Cutting Academy to train. The Marbeuf Street address the house has held since 1936 is where Arturo developed what became the Cifonelli style, British structural discipline and Italian line, filtered through a Parisian sensibility. It's now run by the fourth generation, great-grandson Lorenzo and cousin Massimo Cifonelli.
