Crockett & Jones was founded in Northampton, England in 1879 by brothers-in-law James Crockett and Charles Jones, who set up the business with grants from the Thomas White Trust. The firm began making men's boots and, under the second generation of Harry Crockett and Frank Jones, adopted Goodyear-welting machinery in the 1890s, a construction method it remains built around today. Still family-run five generations on, Crockett & Jones produces its shoes in Northampton using traditional welted methods.
