Croots England was founded in 1978 by husband and wife John and Margaret Smith, who handcrafted their first bag after searching for one that met their standards of English country living. Working under the Field Sports Products name, they began making cartridge bags, gun slips, and cartridge belts from strong saddle leather using traditional techniques. Now run by the second generation, Croots still hand-makes its bags and accessories in its workshop in Malton, North Yorkshire, and has supplied luggage to the British royal family.
