Drumohr traces back to 1773, when James Paterson founded J.A. Robertson & Sons, a hosiery manufacturer in Dumfries, Scotland producing stockings and gloves. The brand's clientele grew to include the British royal family and the King of Norway, and in the 1960s its distinctive "razor blade" knit pattern caught the eye of Italian entrepreneur Gianni Agnelli, cementing it as a Drumohr signature. The Scottish factory closed in 2003 and production moved to Italy, where Drumohr is now based in Milan as an Italian-owned house that still trades on its Scottish knitwear heritage.
