Duluth Trading Company was founded in 1989 by brothers Bob and Dave Fierek as Portable Products, Inc., originally selling a tool-carrying accessory called the Bucket Boss to tradesmen. The catalog was rebranded Duluth Trading Co. in 1993 and grew into a workwear lifestyle brand for self-reliant, hardworking Americans, eventually becoming best known for its durable Longtail T shirts. The company relocated its headquarters to Wisconsin, first Belleville and later Mount Horeb, where it remains based today.
