Christian Fuglsang and Mads Frederiksen started Errant in Aalborg, Denmark, in early 2020, after growing frustrated with how mainstream sneakers were designed and sold and deciding to make something themselves. Its debut collection, Essential White and Essential Black, launched that summer, designed in Denmark, handmade near Porto, Portugal, in a region with a long leather- and footwear-making tradition. The brand describes its own approach as favoring materials and fit over seasonal trends, with a deliberately narrow, unbranded range.
