Filippo De Laurentiis launched in 2013 as a standalone label from Ferrante Brands, a family knitwear business founded in Abruzzo in the 1970s, giving the new brand four decades of in-house technique to draw on from the start. Yarns run to cashmere, silk, alpaca and yak, developed alongside garment-dyeing finishes, with production spread across family workshops in Abruzzo, Marche, Umbria and Emilia-Romagna rather than concentrated in one factory. The brand later took on outside investment and opened its first store, in Milan.
