Finlay & Co. was founded in London in 2012 by David Lochhead, Dane Butler, Tom Stannard and Sam Lawson Johnston, launching with unisex sunglasses cut from wood rather than the acetate the brand uses now. Frames are handmade in the Italian Alps using Mazzucchelli acetate, and the label picked up wider attention early on, including a Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award the year it launched. Its Percy model got a further boost in 2017 when Meghan Markle wore a pair to her first public appearance with Prince Harry.
