Freenote Cloth was founded in 2013 by brothers Andrew and Matt Brodrick, who'd spent more than a decade designing for the surf, snow and skate industries before starting a menswear label of their own in San Juan Capistrano, California. Everything is manufactured in the US, with fabrics and hardware sourced from both Japan and domestic mills rather than one or the other exclusively. The brand's home base sits in the town's historic rancho-era district, a setting that shows up in the label's classic American styling.
