FULLCOUNT
Visit websiteMikiharu Tsujita founded FULLCOUNT in Osaka in 1992, splitting off from fellow denim pioneer Hidehiko Yamane (who went on to found Evisu) early in what became known as the Osaka Five movement. Tsujita made an unusual call for the era, weaving his denim almost entirely from Zimbabwe cotton, a rare extra-long-staple variety, on vintage shuttle looms in Okayama Prefecture. The brand still designs against early-to-mid-20th-century American workwear rather than chasing anything new, treating historical accuracy as the whole point rather than a starting reference.
