Gitman Vintage began in 2008 as a heritage offshoot of Gitman Bros., after creative director Chris Olberding was sent digging through the company's own archived line books while working on an unrelated private-label order. What he found became the basis of the line, decades-old plaids, prints and patterns pulled from the archive and reworked with updated dyes and construction rather than reprinted exactly as found. It's made in the same Pennsylvania factory as the main Gitman Bros. line, three decades after those original fabrics were first put into production.
