Knickerbocker Mfg. Co.
Visit websiteAndrew Livingston had been making hats at Watman Headwear Corp., a 60-year-old factory, when its owner offered to sell him the space. Livingston and two friends, Daniel McRorie and Kyle Mosholder, raised the money through Kickstarter and took it over in 2013, launching as a private-label manufacturer making baseball caps. The Queens factory expanded into full apparel production for other labels before Knickerbocker turned the operation into a brand of its own in 2015. It's stayed rooted in that same factory, blending classic American style with references to art, music and sports.
