Le Minor
Visit websiteLe Minor traces back to 1922, when Berthe Etui opened a knitwear workshop in Lorient, Brittany, to make sweaters for local fishermen, while the Le Minor company itself was founded in Pont-l'Abbé in 1936 by Marie-Anne Le Minor. The two Breton firms merged in 1982 and work from the factory in Guidel, which won the French Navy contract in 1980 and made between 5,000 and 15,000 officers' sweaters a year until 2010. All of its clothing is made in France, with knitting and cutting handled in its own workshops and cotton spun in the Vosges and dyed in the Pyrenees, and the company holds France's Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) certification.
