Lochcarron of Scotland
Visit websiteLochcarron of Scotland traces its history to 1938, when a weaving factory was set up at North Strome, near Lochcarron village in Wester Ross, by Highland Home Industries with John Morris Buchan brought in to manage it. The first Strome single-width tartan, the Crawford tartan, was woven in 1949, and in 1962 the company acquired Peter Anderson of Galashiels, adopting the Lochcarron name at what became Waverley Mill. The company relocated to its current site in Selkirk in 2006 and continues to make woven tartan textiles and Highland wear in Scotland.
