Sebastian Blanco Aldomar, who'd started working in a shoe factory at twelve, founded what became Magnanni in Almansa, Spain in 1954, running the operation with five employees out of the ground floor of a house. He partnered with Antonio Garcia Pastor in 1956 to form Blanco Y Garcia S.L., and the company later took the Magnanni name once his son, Pascual Blanco Martinez, took over as head designer. Production now spans both Spain and Portugal, still built around hand-painted patinas and hand craftsmanship.
