David Sipkens, Aafke Tuin and Steven Vrendenbarg founded MR MARVIS in Amsterdam in 2016, driven by their own frustration trying to find a genuinely good pair of shorts. It grew into the Netherlands' top-selling shorts brand before expanding into trousers, tops and accessories, all made in Portugal using materials also sourced there. The company runs a permanent, "slow fashion" core collection refreshed seasonally rather than replaced outright, and became a Certified B Corporation in March 2023, scoring well above the Dutch average on its B Impact Assessment.
