Thomas Glover started knitting and selling jumpers in his hometown in Leicestershire in 1796, and the family-run business he began has stayed in operation for eight generations since, now working out of Manchester. Wool comes from farms just a few miles from the factory, keeping the manufacturing supply chain deliberately short, and the brand holds British Wool and Blue Marble certifications. The range has grown well beyond that original jumper into jackets, shirts, trousers and accessories, still built around the same idea of hard-wearing, reliable staples.
