Jan Waszkiewicz and Stanley Zaleski, both master machinists who'd immigrated from Poland, founded Randolph USA in 1973, determined to make high-quality sunglasses by hand in the US despite considerable early skepticism from the industry. The brand eventually earned trust well beyond fashion, becoming a supplier to the U.S. Department of Defense and to aerobatics pilots who need eyewear built for extreme conditions. It's stayed family-run across three generations since, still handcrafting frames in the US from domestic and global components.
