Suitsupply was founded in Amsterdam in 2000 by Fokke de Jong, who ran the company out of his university dorm room in its earliest days. It's vertically integrated, sourcing fabric from Italian mills including Vitale Barberis Canonico and Reda while having its suits made in China, and is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation. It opened its first stores outside the Netherlands in 2007, in Antwerp and on London's Vigo Street, and has since grown to around 150 locations worldwide.
