Todd Snyder founded his eponymous label in New York in 2011, after working as an outerwear designer at Polo Ralph Lauren, menswear director at Gap, and SVP of menswear at J.Crew, where he created The Ludlow Suit and The Secret Wash Shirt. His first collection launched at Bergdorf Goodman, Ron Herman, and Neiman Marcus in fall 2011, drawing on Savile Row tailoring, vintage military clothing, and American workwear. American Eagle Outfitters acquired the brand, along with Snyder's collegiate-sportswear label Tailgate, in 2015.
