Yearn Shoemaker was founded in Chengdu, China by Phoenix Fu, who after seeing the shoemaking workshops of Northampton while living in the UK set out to build a domestic Chinese shoe brand around the same handcraft tradition. He partnered with Jie Zeng, a traditional Sichuan artisan with more than 25 years of shoemaking experience, and with Tim Liu to establish the workshop. Every pair, whether made-to-order or ready-to-wear, is handlasted and hand-welted with hand-stitched outsoles at the Chengdu workshop.
