Sebastian Öhrn founded Myrqvist in 2016 after noticing, while studying in Scotland, just how inflated the price of quality shoes was relative to what they actually cost to make. He built the brand around cutting out that markup by selling direct to the customer, designing everything from Stockholm while having the shoes handcrafted by artisans in Portugal, mostly using Goodyear-welted construction built to last for decades. Myrqvist was named Sweden's fastest-growing footwear brand in 2020.
